Online Counseling for Individuals

So what is required for online counseling? A private space with a solid internet or data connection to allow for uninterrupted video conferencing. That private space doesn’t necessarily need to be you alone in a room somewhere. I absolutely do not mind if your children are present but I do prefer that you have privacy from other adults so you can speak freely without worry.

We can meet in your parked vehicle, on your couch, in your bedroom, etc. My clients choose online counseling because it is so flexible and fits into busy schedules. Fitting appointments into your schedule should not be stressful and online counseling removes a lot of the time that would normally be wasted by traditional counseling.

My philosophy is that you are the expert and nobody knows you better than yourself. I may be the therapist but you are the one in charge and directing where we take your mental health journey. I use a “person-in-environment” lens to look at how every factor of your life and background impacts your day-to-day functioning.

There is no one size fits all approach to therapy. I utilize a variety of techniques and tailor treatment to each individual client. Since you’re the expert, we will determine the course of treatment as a team and collaborate on your treatment plan. Our therapy sessions will never include anything you genuinely do not want to do or talk about.
